• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ballistic Lifepo4 In The 2011 Te310

Just a post 3rd ride report, the thing works great and is completely invisible (dont even know it's there as far as function). Do I feel the weight difference, of course not, but its certainly there. But truth is I only rode the bike once with the OEM battery installed so a comparo is really imposible.

Exactly how I mounted mine in the TXC310 except I duct taped the battery to the battery tray and then used 2 zip ties to hold it in place (pretty nice of Husky to have holes for the zip ties already in the fender) I also ran my positive lead AWAY from the frame (minimize the risk of shorting) I like the way you marked the + and - on the battery.
I guess I'm not sensitive enough to notice the weight difference when riding either - but I have noticed that under 45 degrees it seems to crank a little slower. No big deal - when it's cold out 1 kick to start it first time and then everything warms up and is fine. I also think it cranks a little slower when in gear with the Rekluse which may mean I'll need to kick start it at dead engine start races. (2nd gear kick and go!)

Has anyone put one of these 4 cell batteries in a 450 or 510? I have an 09 te510 and I'm looking at some lightweight battery options. The dealer near me has this exact battery in stock but I'm not so sure it will work, the site says these 4 cells are good for 350cc and under. According to ballistic I need the 8 cell (which is not in stock), but if anyone else has used a 4 cell in a bigger bike I would be interested to know the results.

Thanks in advance
