• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bell mx2 Oneal element boots?

Jimmy250

Husqvarna
AA Class
Anyone have either of these??? Ilike The brand bell for all it stands for, This mx2 is a fiberglass helmet, just wondering if anyone has/likes? Also looking at the oneal Element boots due mainlly to price I am on a bit of a budget and I have worna hole right through my alpinestar tech 7's. Anyone have/like? Thanks Guys- Jim

Not sure about the boots but as far as helmets, my Scorpion was about that price and I love it. EVS also had a helmet in that range that got some really good reviews.

I have eyed those boots as well. Look Like AlpineStar Vectors which I used to like but very inexpensive. I have never had good fitment and longevity with sub $250-$300 dollar boots.

Jimmy250, what size boot are you? i have two or three pairs of Alpinestars Vectors in good condition i could let go fairly cheap. size 10. i've got black/gray, red/gray and black (might keep the all black)

planning to throw them up on eBay soon but let me know if you're interested.

Hi guys I have an old pair of vectors, and a old pair of beriks, and old pair of tech 7. I am a size 7, so not sure what to get I love the 7's but they have become really expensive. Oh well

friend of mine bought a pair of the Scott 250 boots on sale, seems to like them. i dont know anyone with the O'neals though, sorry.

Not sure what you are paying for the boots or exact model but when I used the oneal boots, they were bad .. Look at the toes on that boot ..Some element models that they sold had a Bozo toe on the end and that made it extremely hard to get under the shifter ... And the oneals did not last me either ...

The scoop on that boot

A.R.C. does make a much better entry boot (that was competing with the oneal element) and was priced under 100$, same as the oneal element. Then I saw where no A.R.C. boot was not available from Rockymountainatvmc.com AND the element boot had went up in cost to well over 100$ ...

I either have to buy another brand entry level boot or pay more for the next level of boot due to the fact the ARC boot is not available ... That element boot is not made for me ...

Bell MX-2 Vibe Helmet

Again not sure exactly what model you are buying, but I purchased one one of these for ~100$(2012 model I think) ... Seems OK but the size on medium was smaller than most medium helmets so beware and the colors might be a little funky also... Weight was about in line with others in the price range ...

I have a pair of the Element boots. They are comfy but not very stiff. Not a bad dual sport boot. Ok to walk around in in camp if that gives you any idea. I have used them hard for 4 years or about 5000 miles. Just now they are starting to crack a little around the ankles. No problems with the sole or toe.

OK guys waiting on the order to come. I went with the bell helmet, But I upgraded the boots to A-stars Tech 3. Very similiar to my tech 7 and I believe I will be much happoer. Thanks For all the replys!!!
