• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Blasphemy! KTM 690?

duggoey

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I have been made an offer for a new Orange machine, dare I say it on this forum... A 2008 KTM 690 Enduro (FI). Very good condition ~ 8000km

I took it for a decent ride on the road and boy, that thing can move. Apart from the seat feeling like a piece of granite (the TE seat is softer) and being a bit vibey at high speeds (>110km/h) it was great.

Has anyone here owned/own one? Problems? Good Reports? Maintenance etc.

Jeff is about 6'6" and looks normal sized sitting on one. He sold it and got a Husaberg....now wants a Beta.

All I got.

They are exceptional bikes and a real DS machine. That means good on fire trail and more open ST and not bad on the road. Not as vibey as the 640/625's. Be careful off road, the trellis frame does not give good sump support. Only real issue is small 12 litre tank, ok for a 3 hour blat but not a long distance tank-there are safari tanks though.IMHO a supperior bike to the 630 and 610 but a lot more expensive.

Sold!

Was in the dealership for $12,000, bought it privately for $6000, bash plate and windscreen. The suspension is so hard, way harder than any enduro ive ever ridden. It even bounced off some bumps in the road.

Told my wife Im selling the 310, although that may not (actually definately) happen...

Fantastic discussion :)

Although I think it would be a better fit in General (Main), the general idea for organizing things is to have everything under "Husqvarna Motorcycle Discussions", including Common Topics, be Q & A about Husqvarna Motorcycles... and the miscellaneous discussions like this in General (Main).

Common Topics -> General (Main)

I don't get it ... What's the point of a Husky cafe and every stray dog on the block comes in here and squats all over the place?

Just make another section for all these egos that must stay in Husky land but insist on their own agendas that push other brands of motorcycles ... Call it the pig pen or something appropriate ...
