• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Blown up smr510

I'm thinking of getting rid of Blown up 2007 smr510. Just wondering if anyone has seen them for sale and what price was on them. It spun a crank bearing.

I am asking 1500- Too low too high? Just don't want to screw anyone, and don't want to get screwed.

Appreciate the input

Thanks,
Kyle

I think it depends on what you have in mind and whats wrong with the 510. Did the motor throw a rod through the cases? Down on power? drop a valve? I think that will be the primary basis for what it's worth to someone. If it just needs a top end, then it's possible it's worth more to someone. It's strange, but in some cases, the bikes are worth more in parts than together. I was trying to sell an 03 KTM 525 in great shape for$1500 locally. I didn't even get a single inquiry after acouple weeks. Ended up parting the whole thing out on ebay and made around $2500. Go figure. It's a lot more hassle that way though, and you have to deal with all the work. Askign $1500 is a good starting point. If they need an entire engine, then it's gonna be a spendy proposition to get it up to speed. If it needs a top end, someone can score a deal and the beast can live once again. If you were on the other side of the country I'd be interested in taking a look. :)

It spun a crank bearing. That means the case is ruined where the crank bearing has to fit. The motor will need a new set of cases. Sometimes this will cause damage to the crankshaft spindle also.

Bring to west coast! I'll buy it. :)
