    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Anyone able to confirm that BMW are ditching their light enduro bikes, and sticking with their other 'bigger' lineup?

I.e:
- BMW - Touring / Adventure Bikes
- Husqvarna - Enduro / MX / Racing Bikes

The reason i ask, is in regard to the Husky marque appearing in more prominent events such as Dakar etc, and in turn, have access to more accessories such as the Speedbrain rallye kit.

Currently these two bikes share the same engine, however, the husky model appears to have better engine features.

i was under the impression that the bmw had ceased production a while back they only made it for 3 years,i may be wrong and the engine is a lot different ie hydraulic clutch on the husky different gearbox and lighter and more powerfull.
 
I heard last year already that the BMW 450 engine was going to be used in the Husky 449. Here the G450X has not been available for well over a year already.
 
Does anyone know if it is still the same servicing schedule of 70hrs on the crank, the same as the 450X? Also is it the same crank spec as I had problems with mine cracking on the 450X?
 
Reports are the crank, rod and bearing is all different. All bikes have service hours that seem way to soon and many run bikes 5-10X longer. See your service intervals for the new (none BMW powered) huskys.
