• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

broke the starter out of the motor

I wanted to post my latest debacle with my 2012 te 310. after getting the motor to run somewhat ok by powering it up etc.. i have ridden the bike about 10 times for short 10 mile trail rides. it still bogs down low and stalls more then it should but i could ride it. yesterday i had it out for about half an hour got in a slick rut and it stalled. i tried to start it turned over but did not start. pushed the starter again heard the rely but the motor did not turn over. i tried a few more times no go. i tried kicking it for a while no go. i then pushed it back to the road not fun. i tried to jump start it and got it to fire and rode it home 1/2 mile. figured it was a battery issue so i put it on e charger. the next day i look at the bike and see it is leaking a little oil. i did not drop the bike the other day so i was confused the bottom of the motor was fine. i finally looked on top of the motor and see the starter casing broke off the motor. i am losing my mind what fragile piece of crap this bike is. i am going to take it to the shop but i am sure it won.t be cheap or quick to fix. i will miss out on some of the best riding and for what buying an 8000 dollar bike. the tail lights broke off after 2 rides the front fender cracked after 4 rides. has this happened to any of you or am I the unlucky one.

Yeah, A second membr to my club. I had the same thing happen. Broke the sterter out of my motor:mad:Stoped to help a frend in a tight rocky section, Noticed oil on my bike cases and after some careful searching i couldent believe what i was looking at. The starter jacked right out of the cases, i was lucky it was only the starter and not the cases, Bolts were bent way over by the force. I was 1 month out of warranty and husky shit on me. I have owned 3 huskys and after my problems with my 2012 te310 its my last. thanks to 3 bros in Costa mesa for thrie stand up willingness to help and eat a good chunk of the bill. They couldent believe husky
shunned me for a obvious husky defect part. :thumbsup:to 3 bros. Next time out it was the woodruff key sheared. POS has stranded me twice deep in the mountains. Not happy at all.
