  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

BWM 3/Acropovic Map Identification Number

Husky Bob

Husqvarna
B Class
Had my TE449 mapped for the full Acropovic Pipe (or in US they refer to it as BMW 3 mapping).

Please would someone be able to confirm whether the following map identification number is correct for the full Acro/BMW 3 map: 0909CE0B100K ?

This is the map ID number as displayed on the dealer's diagnostic app when connected to my 449's ECU.

Thanks Norman, I stood by my dealer when he tried to load the full titanium akrapovic map (he selected MY13 for my bike) and twice he tried and twice the diagnostic tool said that the map was unavailable. My dealer said that mean't it was already installed! That's why my question. Do you think that he should have selected MY12 even though my 449 is MY13? Or is he correct?

Husky Bob, TE449 MY12, MY13, MY14 - akrapovic maps are same. I tested it. Map is available, if HST software last update loaded.

Thanks Norman,
Should I try installing the map from another MY?

Do you mean that the dealer has to update his HST to the latest software?

Not from another model year, that will be kicked back in the HST software. You need to try different countries such as USA, Canada, EU or AUS maps if available.

Yes. Dealer must have active authorization for update software.

Maybe, but I have TE449 MY12, for example, and can to upload MY13 map to my ECU. No HST errors found.

Thanks Normann, the snap shots of your screen are useful because I watched my dealer follow the exact path as shown in your jpegs.

He also selected the EU_AU_JP option.

Then when he clicked to update the ECU the program popped-up a message that there was no update available...
...my dealer interpreted that message as meaning that the update was already installed.

Please would you let me know what your program reports when you try to install the full akra map on your ECU which we know has already been mapped?

It also returns that message if it is not upgradable.

Okay, now I am properly confused...

Does "not upgradable" mean that my dealer is correct and my 449s ECU is already upgraded?

I want to go back to my dealer in the morning but I'm not sure what to instruct him to do or ask him?!?

Husky Bob, try to upload to ECU standard map first time. If it is OK, then upload akrapovic map.
Maybe your ECU is locked. What do you think, Tinken?

Sounds like a plan Normann. Did you unplug the power-up dongle before re-mapping or does it make no difference?

It's possible it is locked. But I think you should try loading all the maps for your particular year first.

Power-up plug need to unplug and lambda sensor plug on. See HST annotation!

Yes. It is true.

Thanks guys,:notworthy:

I have an appointment scheduled for Monday morning with my dealer. I spoke to him briefly about your ideas and he's willing to try.

If I understand you Normann and Tinken correctly:
1) plug the Lambda sensor back into the wiring harness
2) unplug the power-up jumper
3) load all the maps for TE 449/MY13/EU_AU_JP beginning with
- (what ever the first one is); then
- Race map II; then
- Full titanium akrapovic map.
4) unplug the lambda sensor
5) plug in the power-up jumper

Then...
...brrraaappp the hell out of there
