  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can Valve Clearance Cause starting issues??? 310txc 13

vara

Husqvarna
I recently had a flame out all of a sudden idle.
checked the
  • coil and spark plug, which are fine. (Sparking off the body)
  • Clearance on the exhaust valve/cam seems a bit loose(could that be the cause)
  • I can hear the fuel pump turning.
  • Fuses by the battery
I havent checked the injector and anything else, and dont know what it could be now.
please help

Incorrect valve clearances will make it harder to start. However I feel you have other issues there and it is probably around the engine mapping. Did you just drop the bike before the flame out?

if it ran fine before, you have spark, and it wont run at all anymore.

It is probably the flywheel key being sheared. It makes it spark at the wrong time. You may be able to get a backfire or spit out of it at times, but will not run. Sometimes they don't pop or try at all, but I would still assume the flywheel key is sheared if you cant get it to run at all anymore. ITs pretty cheap and easy to repair after buying a flywheel puller.

When you put it back together clean everything up really well, Use lock tite retaining compound on the shaft and torque properly.

Loose valves don't make it hard to start but tight valves will. If it pull starts but won't kick start tight valves might be the problem.

i Ended sending the bike back to the dealers, when they tell me what the issues were i will send the reply back down here.
