• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can't get husky parts in Canada?

krisw

Husqvarna
C Class
I was just talking to my dealer and apparently I can't get replacement parts for my 2010 te 450. It's only a heat shield for my header but it has taken around two months and finally the dealer told me that the parts company that was handling all the husky parts for canada went bankrupt. They also said that BMW was trying to figure it out and even contemplated taking over distribution themselves. Are there any truths to these rumors and where can I get parts for my bike in the mean time if something big breaks? Should I order from a US distributor?

Have you tried ross rocher sales he probably has something like that in stock and he is in canada. Where you are in canada would be helpful in locating parts since it is a large country.

I'm in Vancouver. But getting parts shipped within Canada is pretty quick. I do it a lot for work.

Hello. This is Scott Rocher from Ross Rocher Sales in Ontario. Yes. BMG has gone broke. They screwed the majority of the CDN Dealer network for a bunch of money. I have made arrangements with Husq US to have parts shipped to me weekly from their warehouse. We have been shipping 20+ parts orders across Canada every day for the last month.

Give Rob Lang a call or email and he will hook you up. We probably have the parts you need in stock. I guarantee that we stock more parts than all the other Husky dealers in Canada do combined. Not knocking the other CDN dealers, just stating the facts.
