  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Can't get into 3rd gear?

AllmanFan

Husqvarna
B Class
Ridding this weekend and my bro suddenly can't get into 3rd gear. Shifter seems really loose lots of play and even stays up compared to mine which always returns to the correct position (as it should). Bikes going in obviously but any thoughts would be appreciated. I posted a question a while back asking if it is normal for the clutch to be so noisy/knocking sound. Most replied that they just have noises clutches. Now wondering if they might be related...? Keep in mind the bike is brand new with only 40 miles on it. 14 te449. Thanks.

Shifter splines maybe, remove shifter take a look, a thread or two about it, hope thats all it is, have not
Heard of tranny problems at all on these bikes

The shifters are notorious for having the pinch bolt back out. At least it's still under warranty I hope.

Probably broke the inner spring and star. Now it will only cam 1s t & 2nd?
Yep. 1st and 2nd are ok 3rd and up, not so much... No return on the shifter. Spring has defiantly sprung. Going in this weekend for warrenty service.
On a side note Tinken... (And please pardon my ignorance) can you explain the differance between getting mapped and or adding a tuner? Once mapped are you always in map mode? With the tuner can you choose the power level you want? Kinda confused. Thanks
