  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Chain Guide / Bracket ???

MrClean

Husqvarna
AA Class
Only 1300 miles on my '09 TE310.... Is this common??? (See Pic)

Do I need part #41 - Bracket, #42 -Chain Guide, or both?

I'm thinking both... Just looking for confirmation before I call Halls.

Not so common unless you are wearing the inside plastic piece on the outside or inside..Then the aluminum is bent or not centered on the sprocket.

If it is wear on the bottom then the chain may have been loose for a while.. If the aluminum part is good then only # 42 is needed

Or go aftermarket with a T.M. Designs.. One and done with the TM.

well just looking at your picture the chain is to loose and has worn through the plastic guide and then through the alloy bracket..... so now you will need both 42 and 41..... keep the chain tight and you will only need to replace the guide 42 in the future

ps ...replace that sprocket it looks worn

happy riding H.B

Wow looking at the guide you not only need a new complete guide, but also new gearing and a new chain.I would have thought you could hear it when it was sawing through the aluminum part of the chain guide/guard.The other thing I have seen in the past that could do this is a gearing change to a larger rear sprocket without changing the lenth of the chain to move the axle farther back in the swing arm.

WOW... For some reason the lower picture did not come up the first time I saw(rather you sawed thru)the whole kit and ba buttle.

The BRP is also a great unit and are sponsors of Cafe Husky..
