• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Chain Master Link

Husqvarna
AA Class
Does anyone know which master link will work with the stock chain ? The stock chain has a small pin diameter .199 and I have been told that Husky doesn't sell a masterlink. I hate to toss the chain with 150 miles on it....... Emailed my chain guys but they did not know either.

thanks

Who told you Husky does not sell a master link? I was able to buy one for my 510 at a local dealer.

You can also look closely at the chain and see if any of the links have the manufacturer's name stamped. If so, contact that manufacture with your bike's details and you're golden.

Dealer said not listed for the Terra and the stamp on the link plate doesn't match any brands I recognize.

Try reading other link plates and Googling the result. Also consider taking your bike to a hard-core motorcycle wheel shop as they could find a match from their inventory.

That's all I've got.

My flash drive is in the mail so I just get to wonder about stuff for a few more days......I'll try the rko and see what turns up...Thanks

My chain is an RK 520 and I'm guessing O means "O" ring, so it may be the cheaper RK series.

BMW does not install master links on their chains. They don't on any of them, 650 or 800GS You have to splice one in if you want one.
