  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

CLutch Case Cover

I was doing some work to my clutch basket. When I was putting the cover back on, I came across a small O-ring. The drawing in the manual shows that the O-ring goes in between the cover and case, third hole from the oil filter, (top front of the cover). The thing is, the O-ring does not seem to fit in, just rides between the cover, gasket and case. If anyone has had their cover off and knows where that O-ring is placed, I would appreciate your help. Anyone know what that ring is for?
I apologize if this isn't real clear.

i have had mine off recently to play with springs on clutch... cant say i know what yo umean really but i did notice that the washer that goes on kickstart shaft fell off and noticed it by chance... put a pic up, says a thousand words....

For those interested, the schematic shows the O-ring, #6, in the wrong location! I racked my brain and saw no logic in where it was said to be placed. Found out the O-ring goes on the case side. Next hole down from the stud on the oil filter housing, (#12). Just happened to stumble across a photo in my service manual. So next time you have the cover off, check to see if that O-ring is in the right spot. It seals an oil passage to the cylinder I believe.
