  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Clutch drag

Scratchy

Husqvarna
B Class
I have a 2008 TE 250 and I am having a problem with the clutch dragging. I tried bleeding the clutch in case that was the problem and it made no change.

While the bike is in first gear with the clutch pulled in to the bar the bike will move on its own while idling. If I hit the throttle at all the bike stops.

I just bought the bike and I was thinking of doing an oil change to make sure that the oil isn't causing the problem. Not sure what oil is in there. The guy I bought it off of thinks it might be 20w50. Also looking at the sight window on the bike it looks as if the oil level is high

Would any of this make the clutch drag or should I pull the right cover and see if there is some other problem?

They drag some and it's ok. Does not hurt anything except makes it hard to push or start in gear. Neutral ok. You do want to make sure the clutch reservoir is full as the pistons tend to leak. Fill it with Magura blood mineral oil.
Lot's of us are using Mobil1 0W-40 now in these bikes. Yep the eruo car one. The clutch may drag a little less and may shift easier. Probably better for the engine too. Lots of discussion about oil on this site. Go ahead and change the oil and filter as it should be done every several hundred miles.

Welcome to your new bike and the site.

Maybe tighten up your clutch springs a tad that will allow the servo to push out the plates a tad further.
Also take your servo off and clean behind it and als clean and lightly grease the push rod.
