  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Clutch lever to perch... boot or cover?

A Class
Well, it's kind of hard to explain.. I have an '05 TE450, and I think my clutch lever is missing a rubber boot that prevents over movement or dirt getting in it. Often it'll over extend so far that the piston falls out and jams against the side of the reservoir..

This has actually led to me being stuck in gear when I really need to stop (which is actually pretty darn scary sometimes) or not being able to shift into the next gear when accelerating... I've been riding with two fingers on the clutch lever to prevent this from happening, and I dont feel like I have as much control as I used to.

Unfortunately there are no dealerships near me that supply Husky parts (der, why'd I buy this thing? lol)... are there any other brands that use the same Magura clutch perch that my Husky does?

I second both responces-

I don't' have a dealer of KTMS or Husky's within 2 hours. SUZ/HON/YAM.KAWA are 45 minutes away but mainly focus on street- they'd have to order too. SO I have learned to "order" eveything always- for the Ktm OEM I contact Munn's, for they Husky: Halls Husqvarna or Keytime Motorsports in Warren WI. I can get stuff ordered on Monday and get it before I'd have time to make the trip... shipping is less than gas and time anyway.

I don't know if there is anything as good or better in Canada- but you can get things shipped.

If your lever moves forward far enough to let the piston jam .Its the wrong lever. Some Magura after maket work but are missing a stopper, you just need the correct lever,we have the little rubber boots but its just tohelp keep crud out.billf
