• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Commuting on the TR?

I bought mine specifically for commuting. 70 mile round trip into Downtown LA and back. I love it as my other two bikes are too big and heavy to do it efficiently.

I bought mine mostly for commuting as well, which puts about 45mi a day combined. Not terrible, except that it is sometimes a one-hour commute to work, and sometimes back home.

I commute about three days a week on mine, 60 miles roundtrip and half of that in the dark. Once I get properly setup with cases, I'll likely be able to commute 5 days a week on it.

I commute 60 miles round trip. 56 miles on the freeway. I usually use the bike 3 days during the week. It would be nice to reduce the wobble at 65+ mph, but I haven't had a bad trip to work on my bike yet.

Been commuting to work and back on my new TR650 to help hit the break-in mileage. It's not too bad for the 70-80 mph HOV lanes here in Northern VA :busted:. Still consider this my good weather bike though with the lack of weather protection or bad weather comforts. Will be switching back to my BMW for commuting once the weather drops below 50 degrees, but for now I'm enjoying the change of pace for my work ride.

Very nice picture, Fer Quiles. Where is that in Spain?
While living in Germany I used to ride to Spain for vacation a couple of times. Lots of great beaches and pretty girls.

Alicante-Benidorm. that pic from north mountains in alicante, Vall de Laguart.

DOUBTLESS Terra650 is the best bike to commute nowdays.. just to find the right windshield to protect you when 80mph. i am looking forward that. OEM is not work properly.
