• 4 Stroke Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Italy - About 1989 to 2014

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Considering moving from orange to red, please help

Huskies have not been marketed \ advertised \ raced in the usa to any degree that will put them on the map ... Even today, you can still read where someone said "I did not know Husqvarna still made motorcycles" ... Call it what ever you want, maybe sales are so low that the $ needed to advertise \ race the bike is not there ... :( maybe it is management .... I saw where one ~high up husky paid guy said the best way to market the bike was through word of mouth .... That is true to some extent but it has not worked to push sales up since the movie 'On any Sunday was released' and if this is their attitude, it might be part of the problem ....

ktm has got a big following but for its' price, I'm not sure it is the average joe crowd ...

I don't know how this thread got hijacked into a whine fest, but back to the original.

I would not be afraid to go Husky. They are good bikes, and have good build quality. I would stay far away from any four stroke though, no matter what brand name is on it. Jersey is too technical for a heavy pig with valves and cams. Of course, that's only my take on it.

If you like your KTM 300, a Husky will be slightly different, but not enough to make a difficult transition. The biggest thing will be getting the jetting dialed and breaking in the suspension. The kickstarter is a little different than the KTM and may take a little getting used to, but that's a minor glitch.

I wouldn't even be afraid to go with a 250 2t. A little less tiring to ride, and less hassle to jet in my opinion. The KTM is a fanatastic bike, if it's low hour, I'd keep it. If you're ready for a new one, Husky is a fun alternative, especially for a big guy. I don't think you'll be giving up anything.
