• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Contingency question

When I bought my bike, the contingency program had a big part of choosing a Husky. (not a descendant of Rockefeller here). I bought a 2011 WR250 in May of 2012. I was told that you could get in the program if your bike was 3 years old or newer. They said, that meant I could get in to the program for 2 more years. I am being told by jenna at Husky that is not true. I recently turned in the results from my first race this year and she replied back saying this. Hi Jeff,
You recently submitted a contingency claim, however the 2013 Race Contingency Program only applies to 2012 or newer models. Should you come into a 2012 or newer model please register at www.husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com/contingency.php for the 2013 program.

I replied back with basically what I said above. Then she replied back with. Hi Jeff,
Who told you that you had three years of contingency? The 2012 Race Contingency Program expired on 12/31/2012. The 2013 Race Contingency Program will expire on 12/31/2013. We could or could not have a contingency program in 2014. The contingency program does not come with the purchase of a bike like a warranty. I am sorry that someone else misrepresented the program to you but the program rules last year were listed on our website and they are listed there again this year. Nowhere in our rules does it indicate contingency coming with the purchase of a bike for x years. Again, it’s unfortunate that somebody else explained the program to you incorrectly. Please let me know who this was so we can reach out to them and make sure that no further confusion is caused.

Could some one please help clarify this for me. Thanks Jeff

That pretty much says it all. Last year, they honored 2010-2012 bikes, so three model years which was very generous. This year they reduced it to two. Whoever told you three must have made an assumption based on last year's program.

O righty then, makes sense. I knew the dealer wasnt misleading me. Kinda sucks though, I got close to a grand last year in husky bucks. I figured I would check here before I got all pissed off about it. Thanks for the info Phoenix. Later Jeff

Definitely a bummer, but at least you got a sweet bike out of the deal. I hear those Husky smokers are getting scarce at dealers!

More then likely I will assume there probably (and do not quote me!!) If I were a betting man will not be a contingency program after this year. A bummer. And a bummer about your bike deal. Maybe you could buy a new one and sell yours and still come out better****************************************!

Thanks for the replies, its not a big deal. I got a real good deal on the bike to begin with. We will see what happens next year with the new owner deal.
