  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

[ Here is a few pics. Dug out of the corner in the shop, pressure wash, degrease, then Strip.
Should be a decent platform to restore, bike was a low hour machine, that the original owner had stored for years. Still has the original trellborg front tire mounted, I changed out the original rear last season ( Still have it, still decent shape). will post pics and updates as thet come. Looking forward to this, should be fun, and I might rediscover some long forgotten words I havent used for some time.
Cheers

Hi tallone66,
Looks like you have a great starting point , every thing there in good shape.
Cherrs 2T_vs_4T.

Dang near all the stuff. Huskydogg has a side panel and speedo for me, thats my parts list so far. Original owner dropped off 2 bags of goodies last night. I now have 2 complete sets of brakes in husky bags, 4 countershaft sprockets, and seals for the front forks. Bike is stripped now, getting ready to media blast everything, box up all parts and off to Colorado for the color coating of everything. Will post up more pics today. Only prob so far is the lower shock bolts seiezed. Crap, swingarm bolt pushed right out, and those 2 buggers are stuck..... oh well all fun.
Cheers

Update....Pics to follow. Completly stripped now, no major probs, hell, swingarm bolt slid right out. Only thing locked up were lower shock mounts....Huskydogg helped out with removal method ( Bigger hammer). Taking stock of parts needed. So far I am looking at one panel, thats it. Now to media blast frame, swingarm ect... get prepped to ship for paint. Have yet to open engine, that should be coming in the next week, hope all is good there as well, seeing how parts are difficult at best. Anyhooo... Back to the shop for more cleaning.
Cheers
