• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Desert Island Husky?

Nordic

Husqvarna
A Class
If you were stranded on a desert island and could take along any one Husky, what year and model would it be? Put differently, what is your all-time favorite and why? Is it the look, performance, what? Also, have you owned it yet?

Guess that I should have added my own favorite, the CR 390 circa 1980. Love the look, sound and feel of that beast. Never owned one, but did get to try my cousin's back when it was hot off the shelf.

do we get unlimited petrol and spares?
i would dig in an get a 1967 360, i love the look and its all sweedish swish.
an if i see you on the island we can go swapsis:thumbsup:

dunno if theres two stroke available, could always go electric an bring solar pannel, like the zero fx...

You are all very practical! Not a bad thing, but my intention was to basically ask what your preference would be if you could have any Husky, from any year, without any concerns for costs, availability of parts, fuel etc. My inspriration was this radio show (from way back in the previous century) called "Desert Island Disks." The host would have a guest come into the studio and share what music they would pick if they could only take along a few cds to the the island.

Enjoy the weekend

its not way back when they still play it on radio 4..
i would always swap the works of shakespere for the beano, all lifes lessons are learnable via the beano.
i stick with the 1967 360 im all on it

Excellent choice. You have expanded my cultural literacy juicypips. I had to look up "The Beano." This would seem to the British cousin of "The Onion." If we get enough responses, I will tally them up and share the results.

Its been a while since I had only one husky and I can't see with parting with any I have now ...but I'd keep the one below for all the known reasons.
