• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello,

I am new to this Forum, but not to Huskys..

I have a question as to the Approx. value
Of an 1982 Dick Burleson Replica 430.
The Bike is in very Good shape, Original
paint on Alloy Gas tank, few Scratches,
no dents.
Rebuilt top end with low hours, Serviced
forks and rear Shocks.. All parts are original.
Speedo shows 13,459 But is not working now..

Does anyone have any info on these bikes,
their Value??

Thank You for any Info.

You know, the problem here is as cool as that bike, or any "replica" bike is. The value is only to a small select group of people who know "King Richard" and waht he did in his time.
I too would like to see pictures and maybe form an opinion of value.

Pretty sure that it's just a regular WR430 and nothing unique. Husky was just trying to cash in on DB's success and named them after him. WR's don't seem to bring as much money as CR's, so I would say around $2K. Maybe more if it's really nice.

My buddy just sold his 82 DB replica. It was as close to new as you could imagine. A real collectors bike.

He got $3K for it and it took a long time to get that out of it.

I say it doesn't have much value at all. In fact, it's pretty near worthless as far as old bikes go.

Since I'm feeling generous, I'll give you $500. for it, even without the pictures. ;)

With a bad economy done expect much

Bike values, like all things we like to use as toys, are going for peanuts
because of the tanked economy.

If that guy got $3K great for him, but he's in the big time minority.

I've seen a 85 250WR, that needed some work not sell for $199
and a guy with 2 500's who can't get $500 for them, granted they
need work but come.

When things are bad it's our toys that suffer. If you had some money
now would be an awesome time to stock up on a bunch of Huskys for better times

My 82 DB replica sold for $1500 on ebay. all original except the PVL ignition in it. That was 5 years ago though.

I have one and its way to fun to get rid of. and it was given to me with no spark.

I dunno about where you live, but prices for vintage Husky's and parts that are pure JUNK are going for insanely high prices on the west coast.

Just take a look at eBay and see the crap for sale there - one guy sells worn out sprockets for $15 + 12 shipping. Have you noticed that some most sellers don't even bother to clean the parts before a photo- what's that all about? Lazy people I say!!

Craigslist is no better- maybe 1 in a hundred ads are decent runners.

Some think they're garbage parts will bring a high price because it's vintage.

I buy new NOS from guys like Hall's, Motoxotica and Husqvarna-parts.com. Most often at a lower price for O.E.M. than used.

Don't you just hate it when people look at ebay and think the price they see on the screen is the price that it was actually sold ... If you surf alot for used oem parts you will see the same worn out shit over and over for sale sometimes the next month even they will put it back up for sale or give you a buy now price. Wow ! Yes the reason they don't clean parts is the dirt and crud is usually hiding the rust or worn out area and they know it . I learned that the hard way on some ohlins. If they clean it , then they will know about the bad item and then they won't really be able to sell at full price cuz they can't put the 30 year old crud back on to hide it from you. I tend to buy from the same sources that have proved trustworthy .
As far as the D.B. bike unless it was his personal bike I see no extra value that it would bring. Sorry
