  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Disassembly of a protoype Husqvarna Nuda engine

AA Class
Hi guys,

I recently came into the possession of an prototype 900 Nuda engine.
This engine has only been started once and has been used to figure out if what kind of material they wanted to use in the engine.
Around 80% of the parts are nothing special, normal Nuda parts, that are stored as refurbished parts.
However I found a few funny bits.

- The oil sump (83290) is completely made of magnesium! This is an highly valuable and light material that are often used in racebikes. I was quite surprised to find this. I'm trying to figure out a correct price and then I will sell it. So if someone is looking for something truly special and wants to shave some weight off their Nuda: let me know!
- The crankshaft (83303) is completely different in design. I might sell it as a special decoration piece, but it can't be used inside the Nuda.
- The Cylinder head (83316) has a different design. I'm going to turn this into a lamp for myself.

- The clutch cover is a different color and smooth.
- The Balancing rod (83308) are different (pretty CNC stuff) and can't be used anymore. It will probably be demolished.

I'm going to continue tomorrow! I'll let you know what kind of funny things I find.

Also I will add in some photo's if people are interested.

Photos please !

I will make some photographs this afternoon. My co-worker is currently cleaning the pieces in our de-greasing sink.
This is the crankshaft. It is a bit nasty right now but we are working on it. A new one cost €721.09 ex. VAT.
It is a truly beautiful CNC piece. I think I'll sell it for €100 ex. VAT. But only as a decoration piece. It cannot be used inside the engine.
