  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Do 2008-2010 TE series have Cush Clutches?

Husqvarna
AA Class
OK
So I read through several threads that say the 2006 and earlier bikes had a Cush Clutch as shown in this pictures:

What about the newer bikes? When I look at the 2010 parts diagram I see no cush/rubber dampers anywhere in the clutch?

The rubber dampers should be mounted on Part #18

Dan,
looks like its shown as an assy under one part number(18). we have the same type items in aerospace. You can drill and diassemble and find all the sub assy parts, but can only find those individual parts on the original mfgr drawings that break down the assy itself. The basket may be built in house or from one of the many OEM clutch suppliers like Adige or Surflex.

That's a really interesting post. I'm wondering as the drawing lists 450-510cc, if the 09 SM bikes had this?? Looks like it took some getting that cover plate off. I thought it was a harsh direct drive, the clutch idea is excellent. Someone must have the answer

I would assume that the rubber dampers are a wear item like they are when in a rear cush hub. They are a replacement part for the KTm 950s and 640s.

There is no replacement part to order, so back to the drawing board.

Are the 08-10 TE cush clutched?

I think when I get a mo I'll post this to Huskysport and see if they know, they must have had a clutch or two out for repairs. Any CH sponsors?

I assume it's the same clutch basket in the TE/SM's.
