• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Guys,
As i posted in a previous thread (ultimate post vintage 250) i now have 2 1984 Husky 250's, but
the CR is actually a 83 numbered motor & frame, which because it's so original i think it was unsold in 83 & upgraded to be a 84 by the dealer & then sold. It's got 84 plastic, seat & tank, but the XC i have has a 83 numbered motor with a early numbered 84 frame, and 84 plastic, seat & tank..weird?

Does any one have a 84 250 & which motor # do you have??

I have a 84 500CR which has 1984 numbers, so there were real 1984 bikes, i guess Husky sold
whatever they had in the factory , in what every configuration , they had available.

The 84 250WR I .have is a correct numbered frame for 1984. I asked Huskydoggg about that during the purchase of the 83 430WR frame I bought from himover a year ago. He had offered me an 84 WR frame that actually had the 28.5deg rake but I did not have enough money for it. He told me that Husky had flowed leftover 83 frames with 84 serial numbers to use them up.

Yeah I guess in the 80's they were there to sell bikes & didn't care what year the frame was & used up what motor's & frame
they had in stock. Funny cause the 250CR i have has really high serial # (7000? something) frame but it's still an 83. Didn't
think Husky made that many bikes in a year, they must have been cranking those frame out.
