  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dual Sport Ride... TE310.

Cool video. I have to say the 310 is my favorite bike in my garage. I try and save it for my dual-sport rides and I do love my CR144 which is setup well for the woods but I prefer my 310 any day of the week. I have been tempted to buy another one and mothball it to ride when this one wears out but the parts situation worries me.

Thanks for the kind words guys lots of wicked videos to come since my filming strategies have changed from just throwing the old action cam on the helmet and getting not that great footage!

LAHuskyRider: I think the same way I'm tempted to buy another 310 if I can find one near new and store for a few years.. on a side not I read that GasGas bought the 250/310 engines from husky so we may see a pretty cool GasGas dual sport in the near future!
---------------------
ptkatoomer: I'm running OEM front sprocket whatever that is cant remember and a rear 48 Talon Radialite seems to be best for woods with short hops to my riding areas (Approx 5k) A 50 rear works even better for woods but kills the HWy speeds. TXC ecu and injector and exhaust opened up works awesome pulls hard and clean almost like a 450.LOL I also have a pretty wicked XR675L that is a 'true' dual sport but the TE does it all well except HWY stuff that little engine hates to buzz down the HWy its really meant to have a load on it in fact I don't even ride it further than a few K or miles to you guys! LOL

Jimmy250: the riding area is BC, Canada near Kelowna, BC.

Great video, Mudvayne. What tyres are you running on your 310 ? Are they DOT or the Canadian standard for on road use ? It seems that the rear one might be some sort of trails rubber ? I would ask you about wear, but you are in the air most of the time...

Thanks kensea, the back is indeed a Michelin trials tire not street legal (I'm hardly on the street) and the front is a Motoz Tractionator Enduro. Both great tires the Motoz I believe are Australian (I think I got that right) and I will buy them again because wear and traction is really good and they are street legal..! The trials tire I would also have to say give them a try this is my first time trying one and the traction is almost unbelievable "IF" you keep them from spinning!! As soon as they break traction its hard to regain that traction cause they don't clean themselves very well.! As for the wear I would have to say on a 310cc bike and lower the wear will be awesome because they don't really spin in other words not a lot of HP to ruin them. :) With that being said if I put a trials tire on my 75HP CR500AF I could probably kill it in two days at best....LOL.

Mudvayne,
Thanks for the information. One of the site's sponsors, 7602 Racing, sells the Motoz tires. They show an "improved" street legal/DOT rear trails type tire that look very interesting. Starting to think about the next set of rubber for the bikes.... Cheers.
