• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ebay parts - what did I get?

Area51

Husqvarna
AA Class
So I bought a piston and cylinder on ebay that was advertised as 1972 250CR but when I compare the parts they don't match up. Can anyone identify what I have here?

Piston pics and more are here ---> http://www.tallyspeed.com/parts/husky

Is the stud spacing the same? Interesting with the extra transfer ports. If it's stock, it has to be early 4 speed 250.Kind of courious what it ends up being.

Hmm, it looks good but I didn't measure. It's going back to the seller today and I'll try again...

Did some more looking.Your ebay cylinder is a 72, your's is a 73.What exactly do you need.

Well how about that! I'll have to check the serial numbers again as I swore it is a 72.

Parts for 73 and up seems to be easier to find. Anyway, I need a crank, cylinder and piston at this point.

I am in contact with Steve. Thanks.

I checked the serial on the engine and I have a 73... doh!! how the heck I though 72 I dunno but now to move forward.

I found out, while looking for a cylinder for my 73 250, that 73 was the only year the cylinder had a larger twin port exhaust with a bridge in it. Took me a while to find one. Ebay had several listings claiming they were 73, but they weren't. Ended up getting one from Forrest Stahl.
