  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Oh yeah.. definately frustrated.. tend to vent online has I'm taking a break from the bike, bad form thats for sure:thumbsdown:, my apologies..

Jeff Tasky is top notch.. not bitching about him or EE at all.. just frustrated.. you know how it is.. go spend some $ on some stuff for your bike.. get home.. get your bike all tore down.. stuff dont work.. hmm.. put the bike back together so I can ride (I ride 5 days out of the week) or leave it apart, take the 2 hour round trip to Everett, and hope I can pull it off round 2?.. :banghead:

Called Jeff, man that guy is above reproach in my book.. for sure.. more than willing to put these on for me.

His thought was that at the factory they may have misdrilled the frame on my bike by 1/8" or so.. which would cause this.. seems totally reasonable to me, since him and Gary at EE both have never seen this before..

ps.. Skidplate works.. just had to use more muscles and a jack

Thats our (Motosportz) plate probably (black) We make them so they have to give be slightly stressed when you put it on as this makes pressure points so it does not rattle like crazy. After you install it once it will go on much EZer next time.

yep, I just mounted the bottom ones then put the bike on the motorcycle jack used longer bolts to tighten it in, then replaced the long bolts with the ones that came with the kit  all good.. even had a chance to try it out, just got back from a few hour single track ride, and bumped the plate a few times.. :D Love it by the way, looks like itll withstand some abuse..

Those EE braces were not designed to fit your bike. If you would like more info you can PM me and I maybe be able to shed some light on your problem.

Rancher1 is the man.. thanks for the information, totally appreciate it. Tasky took the rad braces back today so I'll be looking out for some other type that can fit my bike..
