• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Nice job with the black/red graphics, the 449 front fender, but I'll take mine with black rims please.

I would take one with a lic plate for CA. But CARB will NEVER LET IT HAPPEN! Dreams are nice. I'll just keep my 02/YZ250, thanks.

Yeah, that's what BMW brought to the brand - grip heaters!

and 5 more years of life for the brand
and a massively upgraded x-light motor
and the TR650
and the 449/511 (yes, many of us love them)
and a new factory
and WAY more advertising
and far better parts system

which bikes came with grip heaters?

Ya know even know this KTM thing might leave a sour taste in our mouths...BMW did do lots for us even if it was short lived.

Weren't they available on the TR bikes? Beemers are known for grip heaters.

And btw, you're preaching to the choir on positive things BMW brought to Husky. I'm not a BMW hater (I own two). Nor am I a BMW fanboi. I will miss thier parts network.

I'd miss the financing, but my score is over 800. People fall over themselves to get me to use their financing. I like the 449 as well. I'm not afraid of change. But I don't care for change just for change's sake. The 449 wasn't that, though. The new factory... I dunno if it helped. There were some minor assembly issues with my 310. They certainly had WAY more advertising, which I think helped with brand recognition. Husky WAS a notalgia brand. Not quite as much now. They're a brand with history, but that is also here right NOW, shipping championship winning bikes (the 449 and 310).
