• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I've decided to replace the horrible pipe on my bike. Its a 430 81/82 motor in a 500 '83 frame. I've never had a MX expansion pipe made up just road bike ones and most of the road bike companies don't want to do MX bikes as they are complicated.
So can anyone recommend somebody in the UK preferably in the South as I will have to take the bike there to get it fitted.

An 83 - 430 pipe should go on OK, but be patient, as I am away next week!

The Proform one on there took all sorts of chopping. I would be interested in getting one built to make sure I get as much bottom end grunt as possible rather than peak power so I will give you a shout to see what you think. Be interested in anyone who has one alreadys comments.

I not sure if he would do 'one offs' but I bought some RGV pipes from Swarbrick Racing many years back, they were in kit form so I had to weld the sections myself. They were renouned as the best pipes for RD's and RG's, worth a call but a bit northerly.

Hi,
You have to wait for shipping but I really like the overall power feeling I get from the Geoff Morris pipe from Down under.
Here is a Pic

Thanks

Have decided (mainly due to lack of cash) to strip the paint off the pro form, flap wheel it and get my welders to run round all the welds again. I reckon it will look ok then if I laquer it, it actually doesn't work too badly.
Any recommendation for heat proof clear laquers ?

Started the salvation of the 'new' pipe. An acid dip followed by flapwheel and a fairy liquid internal. My welders are not happy going over the originals rating their new welds at 5/10 citing dirty carbon two stroke steel and insisting on not being named. One weld at a time then a fit up to check for distortion.

Maybe ceramic coating..

I saw some VW engine headers done with a ceramic coating and they held up well.

Just cant leave any bloody thing alone can you:eek:, it was fine, smoke and noise came out the end ... what more do you want?? but no, you had to go and turn it into a work of art...i dont know, what next the seat cover??? nex ttime your mind starts down this path... have another glass of red wine... That should do the trick.

It's not me honest ! My primadonna welders ripped the piss so bad when I took it to be altered to fit its kept me up at night ever since ! Or is that the red wine?...

I hope they are fixing it for nothing.....being so conscious of keeping their black art at such a high standard...:)

This is the currency, so you got a clue even if he won't be named, black arts indeed and thankfully no money, cheers Sheldon (oops!).

Brewed in Jamaica and in absolutely dangerous condition by the time you open it. check the back of the label... probably has a disclaimer "if swallowed.. seek medical advice":D
