  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Exhaust options for 2010 TXC 250 and DB's?

Does anyone have information on exhausts for a 2010 TXC 250? The AMA sound level for 4 strokes is 94db with the 20" test for 2011. With the silent insert my bike is at 97db.

What do people have for exhausts and have you had it sound tested? Here in AMA District 23 off road we sound test every bike and enforce the rules so I need to find a pipe or it's trail riding from now on until the exhaust manufacterers start making pipes that make sound.

The Leo Vince is supposed to be 94db. It is offered in the Hard Parts catalog with a matching ECU or you can get just the silencer from Leo Vince here in the USA without the ECU. They were having a sale on the silencer blowing out the ones they had left. I have this silencer and like it a lot. I have never had it checked to see if it passes but would think it does. WEC has the same rules and it passes there I assume.

FMF may also make one that is 94db. Never tried that. Good Luck.

I'm not surprised the stock silencer failed. I ride with a friend who's on an '09 txc 310 and am always shocked at how quiet his stock system is compared to my Tuba-like roar from my stock system. I have the stock spark arrester installed.

Hey MNdirtrider..

I have the FMF Powercore 4 and it does meet the 94 db. .. We are selling one that has 3 hours off a 2010 TE 250 for $150 shipped in the USA if interested.. Looks brand new and no scrapes or scratches

I'm not a huge fan of FMF anymore. I've always bought FMF until last year when I bought one for my daughters 2008 Honda CRF150r that was supposed to be 96 with "most models below 96" in the advertising. That pipe rarely makes 96 so I called FMF and talked to them. Long story short, they said that's as quiet as they will make the bike and they may not be making a 94db pipe for this year, they have enough people buying their pipes that are louder for performance reasons so they aren't going to put the time in to make a quiter pipe.

It sounds like I'll end up with the Leo Vince. I'm going to talk to all of the manufacturers at the Indy dealer show next month to see where they stand on making quiter pipes. I have to get a pipe for my Husky and the Honda this winter Hopefully the same company makes both...

Thanks for the info.
