  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Extra gas without IMS on FI TE510 suggestions

Hi all,

I have been reading all of the fitment and quality issues on the FI IMS tanks so have decided to stay away. I would love to see/hear what you all are doing to carry an extra two gallons.

Yep...

That's what I'm talkin bout, thanks! I don't think they make that rack for the TE510 though do they?

We (Motosportz) make the rack.

From your site. Have you revised it to fit an 08 TE510?

Fits:

05-07 250/450/510

08-2010 250/450/510 TXC

TE's are going to need bracket and tail light relocation. we are working on exact fitment information.

will fit the TE but takes a little modifications because of the huge fender and blinker mounts. (see notes on site). Picture above shows it on a TE450 (same bike).

I've pounded Kelly's rack through some serious sand whoops for days. Just can't get it to break. Great quality product.

Thanks.

That said make sure you loctite the top bolts or check them once in a while they will try to back out eventually if you don't. No different than the other bolts on the bike.

I'm sold Kelly. My blinkers are off and I have an aftermarket tail light. What else would I need to do to make it work?

Nothing. those are the mounting issues.

Nice rack and the roto-pack works well. Unfortunately at 5'9" I need a stool to mount up with it on the back. I will use it with an auxiliary tank for those 100 mile plus desert/Moab rides.

Does the 510 have a different fender support than the 610? I have almost an identical setup and I cracked the Aluminum fender support.

how are you mounting them to the rack? did you use the "LOX Pack Mount" from rotopax?

Anyone now what store has them in CA?

I second justgastanks.com, I ride with Ben, the proprietor, he's a stand up guy!

I don't care for the hard sided add on tanks, they look great and I'm sure are very durable but really hurt when they munch a body part in a fall.

I think these are the ticket: http://www.justgastanks.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=365&products_id=1154

An improvement over my homemade redneck version used in Baja:
