• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I bought the wrong shrouds:banghead: I paid 400 and some change plus shipping. they were bought from soldamoto. They are old factory ones not replicas. I need the 15 13 854 01 and 855 01. Looking to sell them or trade for 87 WR430 plastics or 85 XC500 plastics.

they were 400 plus shipping for the two shrouds? im guessing these are cr shrouds if you need the xc/wr shrouds?

Yes wr ones. Soldamoto said they would fit. I was questioning it, live and learn I guess.
wr/xc are the same for 87-88 bikes..cr are shaped different for sure due to smaller tank. they do not swap!
and yes, the pics of the prototype 79 430 would be great.

the 79 430 I sold last year. Honestly I never really did find out the year of that bike. the frame was coated over to think to make out the numbers. It was the bike that got me into huskys. Got it from my father and he never even had it registered lol. It was air cooled, twin rear shock, white and blue. we were told it was a 430, neither of us did numbers on it to verify though. It had some serious power though. I will check and see if i can find some photo's. I had none on my phone though.

we would like to see a few pics if possible..either the engine or year is wrong. 81 first year for the 430.

probably Bad info on the bike passed down to us. Talked to my dad tonight. He has some pics of it in a photo album. I will take pics of them and post them soon.
