  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Finally found a true 1 finger clutch

Dogs Breakfast

Husqvarna
A Class
I am an index finger clutch and brake person. I have found the standard clutch on my TE310R too heavy for prolonged 1 finger use.
Installed a "Clake One" and took it on my first ride today. I am impressed. The clutch feel is light but progressive - no mushy lever. There is no drag with the clutch fully in & I didn't detect any slip with the clutch out. The lever is truely trials bike light - similar to my Ossa TR280i. Hills are easier now as I can hang on better with my left hand and positioning my index finger onto the lever is easy and natural. Arm and hand fatigue is also less.
Build quality is excellent - lovely milling from billet.
If interested check out www.onelightclutch.com

As a side matter, the Clake Two looks to be a really nice addition to an auto clutch. See www.clake.com.au and www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjWSr6nHTjA

I am not associated with Clake - I bought this with my own money, it is simply a neat solution to a problem that I have been looking to solve for a while now. I just wanted to share something that works for me.

Awesome checked out the link looks like meccano.
Where are you located as these seem reasonable but concerned about shipping charges outside of oz.

Dont let the photos fool you - this is a seriously well put together piece of kit.
I am in Oz - so the postage was good for me.
Send an email to Owen at Clake , I am sure that he will be able to give you an estimate for postage to anywhere in the world.

Dogs Breakfast you are no doubt in Australia , Glad you have found this clutch system I have been using this system for close to 12months now and love it, many of my mates have the full system clutch/rear brake on the the two lever system. I dont work nor recieve any freebies etc of clarke , but my mate Is the trail guys for these items . I have posted many post's of these through cafe husky , And the more people that try this clutch and use this the less people will have no arm pump saw hands. So welcome aboard to the new age of easy clutch changing.

THOMASTOWN VICTORIA AUSTRALIA. IS WERE THESE ITEMS ARE MADE. Only issue I found on my TE449 is the clutch hose was not long enough and had to reroute and because the fitting on that hose is pretty sh....it from Husqvarna maybe a new one would be a option. I ended up taking of my headlight switching and hard wired it.
But love this baby. Postage should not be much more than 40 dollars AUS.

Got ONE!, quick successful test today but real ride tomorrow.

Anyone that has been involved in CNC machining will appreciate this unit before its even bolted on your bike.

Boogie how did you find it ? A good friend of mine has alot to do with the works of this , He hit a train and ended up with his leg in a halo for just over 12months of course right leg , so his part of his right leg is fused so he cannot use the brake pedal hence why he use's the Clarke full system and does power slides on the dirt tracks at 100kms plus, I think it would give you a better feel to the rear brake much like the feel of the front brake. Just image the front brake on a pedal yeah baby tha would be fun.

I found it sitting on my desk a day after ordering... Shipped overnight from 2000kms away. :)

I messed around with set up today and got it ready to test tomorrow. So far I like it alot but will report back after a good ride.

Cool they dont mess around with postage, I did do a full clutch fluid change from from the new lever all the way through to the clutch hose bleed the whole lot. The oringal fluid in the hose had a dirty look to it.

I know theyre made in oz i was wondering about shipping charges to uk dw tho i was just shooting the breeze.
$360 for unit $180 for cable to hydro adaptor i guess $40 for shipping makes the megura(however you spell it) setup look cheap ;)

Speak to Owen, he's an awesome bloke , you won't find a better engineered product sad his research is top drawer.

Made in Oz. Top gear ! :)

rabskyline that would have to be the best looking picture on this site. And Owen real nice bloke. And it Australian Made.

OK... first real ride with the ONE Clutch System by Clake.
Did about 70kms in tight trails today. Mostly 2nd and 3rd gear with odd 4-5th squirt between corners.
I really like the ONE

It got me out of the sh!t today up a loose rocky hill. I was losing momentum and needed to slip the clutch to avoid stalling, get my front wheel over some rocks and keep a firm grip on the bars. I simply had more control with the ONE and I don't think I would have made it with the standard Brembo unit.

Yesterday I rode (in backyard-1st gear) for about 15 mins to set the system up. I was happy with the set-up and didn't adjust anything today. It's not at its lightest adjustment, perhaps mid-way where I found a consistent feel. Also moved the lever in so I was disengaging the clutch where my finger felt the strongest.

This unit is going to help me ride tricky sections better and it will definitely reduce finger/arm fatigue.
I'm impressed :applause:

They're not cheap, however, I have an ROI strategy to help me justify the expense.

< the ability to easily keep the clutch in the "sweet spot" could save money on crash damage >

Lever, perch, master cylinder .... and a clutch lever feel & control that no other solution that I have found is able to come close to.

I'll just put this here so I can easily find later. Looks really interesting... Would like to give one a go!

How did you work the compression release lever in there? I have a 08 Husky TE450 the compression release is built into the Magura clutch basket... same for yours?
