• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wow! That sounds bad. At first.... I thought this was a thread about leaky IMS fuel tanks!

Strange:

I thought Husky was to be at the Motorcycle Show in Novi MI this weekend, went there last night and no Husky's. Thought it was related to the sale of Husky

Any info/link on that? I'd like to learn a bit more...

They were at cleveleand so probably happend from there to Novi. Had to go through Detroit so anything is possible. LOL

I think linked in the sense that fire happened and the totally unrelated sale then may have put some conditional restrictions on them otherwise they would have replaced the "x" amount of bikes and the show will go on.
Sequestration.....not really but I would imagine that some policies and practices changed with the sale. Worldwide...BMW of somewhere is paying the bills.

There were 2 or 3 Huskys at the Cleveland show at the edge of the BMW booth, almost out of the booth. I oogled one and not one rep asked if had any questions despite three of them standing near me chatting. Pathetic. Guess they figured "why bother"?

Oh man... I would have had a bit of fun if I had been there... :D

Went to the Chicago IMS show yesterday. No Huskys at all in the BMW section, they seemed to have a reserved a huge space that could have easily accommodated another dozen or so bikes. No word on fires, I think someone was having some fun with the whole fire thing. There was one Terra there courtesy of BMW and Husqvarna of Countryside, from Chicago. They had their own booth next to the big BMW space. They proudly displayed the Terra and said they planned on remaining a Husky dealership. KTM did have a great display, maybe we can look forward to something like that next year for Husky.
