• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Flexx bars (I'm gettin em like it or not)

Looks like the "new" mount has flexxbars installed from previous sponsored owner. So within a day or 2 I will be a Flexxbar user. I have used them before and found one setup to be too flexy on one guys bike but the other was with the harder bushings and it felt really good. So I will now have the chance to really get used to them with red and yellow on my set up. felt also to be an East coast style short between the trees bar setup not wide standard style, but that is still inconclusive. It's got Race Tech suspension set up for the "old" pro, but for my tank ass weight Im sure a spring change is in order, I would think valving should be good for me.
Oh yea cafe crew the bike!! I'm picking up the 11 TE310 2 morrow. will do a full going through , my goal is to keep it as lite as possible everywhere, but well protected and bullet proof for our south of the border middle of nowhere and local ugly stuff.
Cat's outta the bag, Robertaccio is going small and light, go x-lite or go home.......and go street legal!!!

Congrats on the new mount. I like Flexxbars OK. I had a few sets over the years. Real good for people with hand / wrist issues as they take that initial impact away some.

If you end up not liking the flex bars I am willing to try them. I like narrow bars and have wrist problems from old injuries. I also have some new fat bars I pulled off my 09 WR so I could replace with taller bars. PM me and we may strike a deal.

Rob,
I run flex bars with the softest bushings and a Boyesen Shokout/Flexgrip on the left side.... the ultimate old man setup! My ICO fits perfectly on the crossbars.

Sweet Rob, glad it worked out. Yeah, the old pro told me he is getting me a set of Flexx Bars also for my 2 fiddy, so I guess we will both be running em...Guess that's my finders fee for setting RN and LR on a sweet bike deal :applause:

Actually, the bars were in the works a while back. I think I get a set of tires for your deal,:lol::lol:

Cant wait to hit McCain with you and LR and try that 2 smoker out.....He should have his rides by now

I removed most all compatable bling from my TXC450 that will go onto the new machine. I am going to really try to keep as much weight off this little bike, but will install EE rad guards (3lbs) and will decide on using a Hyde/Pirie/ELine/ or OEM Alum(3-5lbs @) full coverage skid plate, my ballistic battery is waiting at my sponsor shop @ a 3 lb loss there, flexx bars a little heavy but will go with them for a while if no go for me I will hit up lankydoug and do a trade (I think I will like them after some adjsutment time), will install my open end flag type Acerbis handguards. Also will do a complete check of the wire loom and secure as needed (my aircraft background drives me to really bullet proof stuff), stop! I will open another thread about my re-prep job.this was only about flexx bars. Lets get on the Ride Chec band wagon, I think Matt W (ISDE vet) and Dai J (the Welshman) are also into doing more of these western enduros. If erek and crew set them up like the Anza one we are all in for a treat.

oh yeah i am all ready signed up/paid for the south of the border slugfest gotta finish all the AA sections this year and get another finisher plaque. The 310 will be the perfect tool for the job.

I love the Pivot Pegz and Brap Off Road sells them... just a little give fore and aft, spring loaded. Very nice pieces with super wide platforms. I run the old man set up with these, Flex Bars and Flex grip.

Sounds interesting. I may try them!! Thanks.

I just rode Lawndartmikes bike the other day with them and did not notice them which is a good thing. Need more time but felt nothing bad.

^^^ haha Kelly**************************************** You just kinda figured the Pegz out already... that's what is cool about them. I had a buddy that didn't notice them until I told him.
