  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF megabomb/powerbomb header for TE511? Can I run one? should I bother?

SloChicken

Husqvarna
AA Class
Like the header says, can I run one of these? Are they worth the cost? I already have the FMF muffler and the Racemap II, but that is it as far as engine performance mods.
I see them around, but every time I try to purchase one they say they are not available for the TE511, but only for the TC449. Will this one work for my bike? Or will the tune be off?

Thanks, your input is appreciated!

I'm running a megabomb and 4.1 on my te449. Everything was an easy installation. You will need these items to get the header to mount correctly.

1 - 8000 H5995 Gasket
1 - 8000 H5992 Flange
1 - 8000 H5994 Sleeve
2 - 8000 H5393 Springs

You will want to order the one for the tc449. It will work. Also, you can find the 2 springs a lot cheaper. I used the old ones off of my kx250f but I've seen Moose springs for around $13 I believe.

That's true. What specific fmf muffler are you running? I'm almost positive that you would need a 3 piece system to run the megabomb.

I have the TC449 q4 and TC449 Megabomb
I'm using the TC Flange #8000H5992
Outer Sleeve #8000H5994
70mm springs.

I'm wondering what's the difference between the TC graphite gasket and the te stock copper gasket?

Just depends on your type of riding/racing. The mega bomb/4.1rct combo is very good and will yield the most hp, especially between 7-10,000 rpm. PC5 is required for correct tuning. It's over kill for the average trail rider. I sold mine to a rather fortunate gentleman in the UK. I ended up going to Akropovic, dropped a couple of hp, but I am stealthy quiet and still over 70hp.

so, I think I am going to stick with my current silencer (Powerbomb 4) and the OEM header as it seems to be getting kind of spendy to pull off what already works pretty well and end up spending a grand to get basically the same thing +/- a couple HP.

The idea of getting the RaceMap III and the PC5 on top of it sounds intriguing and quite possibly a better route for me to go. The header was an idea as I have a couple dings in my header due to a spill in some rocks, but nothing too dramatic - to either me, or the exhaust.
Will the Racemap III and PC5 help with my low rpm flame outs?
And are there canned maps for the PC5 available? or do I have to get it dyno-tuned (read:$500 tab)?

The bike already runs pretty good and I have finished my suspension at this point. But those off-idle flame outs can be a bit of a pain and it would be nice to see them go away.

Again, thanks to all for your input.

Is that the Akra system from the TC you're running now Tinken?
