  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF slip ons for TC or TE 250 2010

What are the thoughts or experiences on the FMF range? ( Powercore 4 4.1 and Q )
They seem to be very affordable - without wanting to use the word cheap
I guess the best one is the 4.1 - better quality , 1 kg lighter and more power supposedly

Would it be as good as say a - TC Procircuit Arrow muffler ( at around double the price)
Doesnt look as nice IMO

I put a q4 on my 10' te250 because it seemed like the stock muffler with the sparky in it was loud. After putting the q4 on the only thing I noticed was a slight difference in the tone. It wasn't necessarily quieter but it hurt my ears less than the stock muffler. I have no idea if the stock muffler was under the 96db level or not but with the q4 I guess I have a piece of mind some sound cop won't say anything.

Did I notice any more or less power though.

Doug

The 4.1 would be a great slip on for the 250. It would be louder than the stock tc arrow can though. As far as power goes the 4.1 should make a little more hp than the arrow, allthough you may notice the noise difference more than power. I'm not aware of Pro Circuit making a slip on for the TC 250 but if they do and its the race or gp pipe, I would for sure go with that.

been down this track with my huskys and exhaust's................ the ony thing that will happen is you will save about 1kg on the stock exhaust witch would be better for tip in weight in tight s/t.....ie leo vince ti x3 is only 800grm's lighter than stock = $100 per 100gram's

ps....i have never seen a slipon exhaust give more power on a 250 without re jetting or lots of tuning

HB - my bike was set up last year with a bigger throttle body , 011 map , CDI and was running the TC can before it was sold to me without it and TE mufler back on it.
The old owner said it gave broader power curve and harder hitting up top -
the FMF cans are $250 for the 4 -$350 for the 4.1 + shipping and weigh 1 to 2 kg s less ? than the TE muffler ( not sure what it weighs )
