• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So i got a (Possibly) 1983 cr500, but the case has 2087 stamping, so i think its a 430, and the frame says WO117, i cant make out the rest but there are three more numbers, and the case says 2087, and the stickers have worn off, and the front forks are black, instead of the normal white, and the shocks are blue and white, but it has a CR rear fender and a plastic tank, please help me identify it if you can, thank you in advance.

Hello Duff, i'm Duf'
How many fins on cylinder ?
If 10, it is a 500.
Pics ?

Apoligies for not responding, I have been drowning in school work, it is not a 500, just recently checked the case numbers and it is a 430, case number being 2087, and the frame is a wr, not able to send pictures as of now, but this coming week i will be able. also it has 9 fins

Were not to far away from each other. I am located in the north eastern part of Oregon. I mis-spoke above when I said 84 430WR. Actually I am thinking it is an 83 430WR with 84 plastics as in 84 Husky made the 500WR. Or it is an 84 250WR or 500WR that some one put the 430 motor and pipe into. What is the frame serial number? That will tell us for sure. I found a few 83 Huskys out of the Nampa/Boise area that had the 84 tank, plastics and seat added to them to update them. I think there was a dealer down in that area that was doing that back when the bikes were new.

Looking at your frame number WO 117xx it is a 1984. If the frame number was WO 0117x then it would have been an 83. So I think it started out as either a 84 250WR or 84 500WR and someone put the 430 motor into it.
