  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fuel line different! Why?

FLATOUT

Husqvarna
Looking at different 2013 TXC310R models I have noticed that fuel line exiting the tank on the left are different. Anyone know why? The one on my bike is pretty exposed and also close to the header pipe. Others seem to 90 degree immediately and cross over the motor to the right hand side fuel tap. Also notice the water pump differences!

Probably because somebody got burned badly when their bike exploded in flames. That elbow/petcock and the close proximity to the rad hose was the reason I spaced my tank up and Zip Ty made spacers. As stock, the rad hose would get chewed up holing it and the petcock barb would sit on the water pump. The FAR bike has a different water pump so doesn't look impacted. That straight petcock though could get broken too with any side impact maybe.

Johnrg - I can see a rub mark on the top rear side of the water pump where the fuel line has rubbed! :(
I`m gonna have to either get the 2014 left hand side fuel tap (90 degree) and replace the straight shot one!

The 90 degree one will require you space the tank up 5-6mm on the front mount, either with 1/2in ID washers or get them from Zip Ty in a pack of 3 in case you want to space up front and rear of tank. Not sure which petcock is preferred but the 90 degree one and the tank spaced has been good for over a year and 2k miles. Only you can judge what is better, but eyeball fitment carefully as clearly nobody at the factory did

OK, cool. I will get some pricing from my agent first and see if its worth it.
I have lifted the front of the tank with tap rubber washers (Obviously made the holes bigger to fit).
Raised about 3mm but will see if I do get the 90 degree.
Cheers!

Just realize rubber washer just compress and you really don't gain anything in use. I left the rubber washer on and then used metal washers for the spacing.

Far racing bike is also using mikuni throttle body. Your bike is keihin. 2011-2012 vs 2013-2014 black and red headed xlites :)
