• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I need another motorcycle like I need another hole in my head. And I really didn't need a 3rd TR650,
but here it is...

It is 100% complete with no missing parts. Bike ran like a top, apparently, but would blow a fuse when the previous owner would hit the start button. He decided to tear apart the wiring harness looking for the problem...and now it's my spare parts bike :busted:

are you willing to sell parts off the bike? I need some parts that arent sold by Husqvarna anymore (and BMW cross references dont exist either)

Ratbike time...

 It certainly looks like a ratlike at the moment! I have all the plastics, headlight, seat, etc. in several boxes. It's complete. The only thing "rat-like" about it is the rat's nest of wires that used to be a functioning wiring harness :)

Hey, AdrRak. I probably won't be selling anything off of it. It's a complete bike, and since I have 2 other runners that get ridden fairly often I will probably keep this one complete for spares. What exactly are you looking for?

Hi WoodsChick, good to see you back here. I see you are admin now, what's up? What happened to Coffee? Are you going to breath some life back here?

I had my Terra and a Strada for awhile, did the conversion on the Strada to high front fender and loved that bike. Sold the Strada awhile back. Probably shouldn't have. I keep getting tempted to buy a new bike, but just can't justify the minimal improvement for the large dollars to get a new model of something.

I don't think you can have too many bikes, just not enough room is the problem I have.

Hi, Mag00. I've been "admin" since this website started, although pretty much in name only. Basically a glorified mod and a sounding board for Coffee. As far as what happened to Coffee, I guess you missed these posts...

And, yes, DirtDame and I would like to keep CH alive. Unfortunately Coffee was pretty proprietary with the site and left us absolutely no tools
(access, passwords, etc.) to do it with. His affairs and records were left in disarray, which is odd for someone who was almost OCD in his meticulousness and attention to detail. He was an excellent record-keeper back when he had it all together. All I am allowed to do, basically, is pay for the server, which I've been doing off and on for the last few years. Now, of course, I am paying for it every month. We are working on a solution to our lack of tools, and we appreciate everyone's patience. Neither DirtDame nor I were prepared to take over the site but we really appreciate this community, and we not only want to keep it going, we want to restore it to how it was before the problems with Coffee started. We can't do it alone. You, mag00, and every other member here is what made CH the awesome place that it was, and it's going to take the whole community to help "breathe some life back" into it and polish it back to its original luster.

As far as too many bikes goes, those words are apparently not in my vocabulary  There are 3 610's, 3 Terra 650's, a WR165 and a WR250 in my garage at the moment...and that's just the Huskys! There are also 2 GasGas's, 2 KTM's, a Suzuki and a Honda :busted:

Hi WoodsChick

Sad to hear about Coffee.
I have followed you and CafeHusky since 2010.
CafeHusky is a goldmine of Old Husky information and support and it would be the crime of the century, a travesty and possibly even a human rights abuse if you were to let it die.

Here is wishing you all the best of everything and hoping you keep the Grand Cafe alive and kicking
