  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Getting the most out of an TXC 300

I just picked up a clean low hour 08 TXC 300. The only mod other than the big bore kit is a Jd jetting kit. What are the best mods to get it running at its best? Powernow, pipe, muffler? Anything else you would recommend.

I tried a few months ago to get a Powernow kit for my 08TXC250 and it was not available ...The exhaust system on the stock bikes are pretty good and I'm not sure what else is out there for these bikes ...

My bike has really been good 2 me ... Congratulations on the new bike ... No pics yet?

No comments yet? I have a 2008 tc 250 with the 300 kit in it as well. My son also has a 2009 yz250f and it seems like it is tuned and ready to race a little more. I like my husky but it seems like there is more spank that can be pulled from the engine. I was thinking about another pipe. My husky is certainly the quietest bike on the line so opening it up a little more seems like an option. Is it worth it? Haven't really looked into it that much but has anyone had the head ported or polished?

when I did my 300 kit on my 06 TC250 I had the head ported by a guy who really knows 4st heads. He said there were obvious gains to be made on the intake side although he did think the head was well designed. That bike ripped.
