• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Good by HAKAN CARLQUIST

Oh no. Have to find out how.

Saw him use such a unigue style of riding his World Champonship Husqvarna 250. Will never forget how he used the berms at Unadilla to
make his bike explode out of the corners. He just kind of threw the rear into the berm and rocketed up the hills and other corners.

You could really tell a different style.

Just a pleasure to see him ride in his Champonship year and other years.

I bought the 1980 Carlbad USGP DVD a few years ago. I never get tired of the battle he and Marty Moates had in the first moto. Not to say enough about Marty's battle with Brad Lackey and Danny LaPorte. I think Hakan finished second or third in moto 2 after LaPorte slid out and Lackey went straight into the fence after missing the turn.

Marty and Hakan are now together again.

I just watched the 1980 Carlsbad usgp race the other day. It's still in the DVD player. Marty was on a rail that day. It's awesome to see a guy like Marty a privateer put it together just once in a lifetime. I like watching Malcom smith all alone in the desert racing too.

I admired Carlquist's form – strong upper body, elbows always up and man-handling the motorcycle. When I was young I wanted to ride like that.

Great quote on Wikipedia:

His last Grand Prix victory was the Belgian Grand Prix at Namur in 1988. During this race, he stunned the spectators by stopping before the end of the 2nd moto to drink a beer, while leading the race by somewhat 50 seconds, and going back into the race to win it.

I don't think you'll see that anymore.

Annerism? Spelling poor, that's the veins or blood vessels on the brain like spaghetti when one ruptures. My son had that at ten years old. A Indian doctor at a clinic had a gut feeling and set my son to the hospital. He had brain surgery. He's 42yo now. It's was a tough time.
