• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Great video! 1967 Hare & Hound in Mojave.

I know - crazy! Those guys were riding tanks back the day and still hauling tail!

Did you see all of those guys swapping out in the wash? A crack up!

yes i thought the video speed must have been speeded up but wasnt, they were just crazy :notworthy:
i really like the vintage videos.

The cool thing is getting out for Nat H&H now and still seeing those same club colors and same comraderie among racers. Invaders, 100s, DesertMC, Checkers etc etc
Get off the keyboard, the local trails and come out and experience it!!

Way to go Robert People need to come try it at least once the funny part was since I have been going out there since early 70 I really knew where they were riding all the time and the course are still the same BUT boy have the bikes changed

If you ever make it so calif let me know I will lend you a bike and you can cross it off your bucket list

Manx,
You are in the same situation is one of our crew from the same area of the world. "The Welshman", he has been riding loads of events in between biz obligations over here just for the bucket list type things. He actually has made a biz base here and has a couple of bikes stationed here now as well as in Wales. He has finally reached the list option to do a National H&H, he cannot make the 13 final but is planning for the season opener in Jan. I can't wait to have him join us for it....conditions are just slightly different from the UK home grounds. As racers you will do just fine, especially in the slower ugly rock and steep hill sections. Sounds like you have Ajax sponsorship if you make it over!!

Man does this bring us back, a Catalina Scrambler doing 75mph on a dry lake bed is very stable although 45 mph was really bookin back in the desert days. Always wanted to put together a Rickman 750 Triumph for these, never did. Probably lived longer. That little Greeves only weighed maybe 200lbs...Just cool. N0:) need to send your Betor forks to Zip-Ty or the Amal carbs either just set the points and boogy. Good vid, better memories...............

Thanks the generosity on this site is amazing so maybe one day i hope  maybe you should look into getting over here to watch the TT or manx grand prix races?

I wanna come over and hang with the big Dave (Knighter).....but watching the TT would be an amazing adventure.
Our local (very) old guy was one of the pioneers to bring a Japanese bikes to the island (1960 TT, Sonny Angel, Yamahas), he made it back a few years ago and had a grand old time and ran into lots of old cronies from the late 50s early 60s.

I've been thinking about this very thing! Love the TT and all the real road races over there. We have friends that have raced the TT and they say there's nothing like it. Would love to go someday :)

if knighter's racing doesnt clash with tt he normally rides a few of the off road events and he is very approchable he's a top bloke also you might have heard of the mcanny's from over here now racing the world enduro's?
I cant remember sonny but they were all pioneers and the riders who came to race from all over the world are the ones that made it what it is today.
