    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Head Shake and Steering Dampers

There is discussion out there. I know there is a thread about a damper system here somewhere.

Also, know that many, many (most?) owners do not experience any problems below or above 80MPH, including myself. There are, however, several people that do have problems. Nobody has found a definitive reason for the shaky behavior, but there are lots of posts on ADV about it.

What tires are you running? Tires have been the most likely culprit.
 
I caught some of this head shake bad the other day. But I was pushing the bike hard. 93mph and changing a couple lanes over. Running Pirelli MT-90's. Slowly rolling off throttle and relaxing grip fixed the problem. I attribute the head shake to excessive speed and operator error.
 
wound back to the stop a week or two back, clock - 94mph head shake - Zero. I was a bit dissapointed it didn't break triple digits!

With stock tires I've been up to 108MPH without any head shake, however I have experenced some shake at highway speeds when around other vehicles, and I feel some up and down (bouncing) between 35 and 40 MPH.
 
JK is your bike Stock or PCV, Wuka or Booster? Not that i care for riding a single at these speeds or more for any duration. But the feeling up that end, on mine, is a trapped pony or two, like it's being held back.

My bike was stock when I hit those speeds, it has a Wukaking now but I mostly only notice any difference from that at lower RPM's.
 
Said it before.....check the wheel bearings. Front AND rear . Mine were iffy at 500k. Chinese bearings and quality control is a touch questionable.

After installing the GPR stabilizer on the TR650 there is no more head shake.

I had it up to 99 mph indicated on pavement and 65 mph on gravel. I didn't want to go much faster on pavement with the Pirelli MT 21s.

Very happy with this accessory.
 
I agree I had head shake on rough roads. After the GPR I have had no head shake. Another benefit is on deeply grooved roads she tracks straight in true in the front. The back end has tracked a little, but the front is like a rock. I will never own another bike without a stabilizer.
