  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Many 2t guys have had success with he frozen water method:

Fill the pipe with water, put expandable stoppers in each end and put it in the freezer overnite.

Pip repair

We use www.piperepair.com> PACIFIC CREST PIPE REPAIR HERE IN OREGON ,THEY A GREAT JOB AT VERY GOOD PRICE

Have done the frozen trick on a YZ header. It took 3 goes to get it out fully. Just fill the header with water about an inch above either side of the dent and place in the freezer. Just make sure the pipe is situated so that the water stays in situ. No need to plug the ends.
Love to hear if it works for you.

OK ... I'll give this water trick a try after 2days ride and report back later .... Water and a freezer are 2 things that I do have here

Pacific Crest has always done a great job for me in the past on the 2T pipes but I don't have access to them from my present location :(

That kit should work as heat is the way I have always seen a 2T pipe fixed.....U just gotta be careful when applying the pressure because this can blow the plug out the end ....

Google it up. There are lots of reports of fixing a dent by the frozen water method....no plugs necessary, just that the dent must have frozen water on it.

Cool ... I just was not sure about the metal on these new pipes but water can move any thing I guess :)

Here is my first attempt ... actually 4-5 attempts .... A little headway but not much ... I have my frid set on high now ... & I'm gonna try the freeze and thaw ~10% and re-freeze method ...

I would try with a long piece of solid wood and a hammer having the pipe sitting into a piece of soft wood with the shape of the pipe (half pipe) and try to push out the dents slowly.

That big one that is creased in the pipe needs to be bent out some for sure I think ... The wood trick might work well there ... I'll try this next and then maybe go to a shop and do the air pressure and heat trick ...
