  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help- bought another X-Lite

Since I was able to eventually get my 2010 TE250 running and starting great I bought a lightly used 12 TXC310. I plan to sell my 2 strokes and lay off the racing going forward.

Generally, the 310 with the 12pt Injector has way more bottom end snap than my 4pt injected 250.
The 310 has a little flat spot just off idle where it doesn't know if it want to stall or spring forward.
I needed to be very careful with the throttle in rock piles and such not to flame it out. My 250 in the other hand is weak off the bottom but It DOES NOT stall. the sections I rode on the 310 and stalled 3 times, I could ride all day on the 250 and never stall. the 250 has an arrow pipe with SA and the 310 was running the stock pipe open with the insert out.

The mid range and the top seemed similar on both bikes but I guess the 310 is a bit more powerful.
Both bikes start 1st kick as I only use the E-start for a "stall it of drop it and need to re-fire quick device"....other wise I kick it.

Both bikes handle similar but the 310 needs a stiffer shock spring. What is the stock spring on a 310...5.2kg? The forks on the 310 are brand new TC forks and I think they need to break in a bit.
Shock on my 250 is a Sachs, Kayaba on the 310. The 250 seems to turn a bit better. Both handle great!

The TE250 with the small tank looks way nicer than the 310, but the 310 carries gas!

My questions:

Skid plate...what is the skinny? I have an E-line on my 250 that is real nice but it has to come off to change the oil. It is like a Carbon Fibre version of the stock plastic plate.
What is the recommended plate?

Exhaust guard. I will try out the FMF Factory 4.1 on the 310 and will need a rear exhaust guard to keep from incinerating all my moto pants. What is the preferred guard that still looks sleek.

Recommended FI settings for the FMF pipe, with and w/o the DB killer or SA. How much quieter is the SA in this pipe? current cos are 100,100,100 TPS set @ 962mv

How do I get rid of the touchy off idle throttle response? I'm thinking of turning up the idle.

Lights.....Bike has a title and I will register it. I'd like to mount a real headlight and maybe a break light...any tips?

Thanks!
