  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help - Euro 2007 450 TE E3

newellj

Husqvarna
AA Class
For the past 4 years I have had great luck with a US 2007 450 TE, the bike has been de-smoged and it has everything George (Uptite) makes, plus a bunch of BRP stuff to make it taller. I have been through every part of the bike and am very comfortable with all of the systems, it has been running perfectly in every regard. We ride lots of muddy woods in VT and I have removed most of the non-essentials.
I love the bike so much, that I just purchased anther one. I found a garage queen - 07 450 TE -E3 with only 500 easy miles on it and it has been living in a heated garage, it looks too good to believe.
Here's my problem, it's an E3 (euro version) and it has many parts and systems that I'm not sure of.. and if and how I should remove.
Keyed ignition- don't need it, can i get rid of it?
crazy Smog tube (from carb boot through a sending unit in the air box)
small sensor on the right side of the air box just below the above mentioned
large black box mounted to the read fender behind the battery
Can anyone direct me to a thread where they de-smog a 2007 ish 450 E3?
Thank you for any help.
best,
JN

I initially plugged the intake port but later replaced the intake boot with a non euro model. The little blower in the air box removed as well as the sensor. I would keep the ignition. The black box is a mystery for me.

Just curious. Did you end up getting this Euro spec '07? I have had my "new to me" TE 450 for coming up to 3 seasons (currently riding ice road course every sunday) and looking to replace some bits and pieces...the one piece i need to replace is the carb boot...would like to bypass that smog tube...any effects?

I had a 07 te510 E3. The black tube going to the intake was to help it pass emissions. When you would chop the throttle the valve would open and allow air to enter and make it lean out. So to answer your question you either plug the hose or buy a Tc boot, won't bother it. These were bad about cracking and hard to see sometimes but very common.
