• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help! (seat question)

Does anyone know if a seat from an '08 or '09 TE will fit an '07 TE? I broke my seat pan and I've got a race this Sunday. I'm scrambling to get a seat for my '07 . Dealer says quickest option is take one off a bike on the showroom floor('09) if it will fit an '07.
Anyone know this?

It's a little late now, but Guts Racing makes all kinds of great seat foam (standard height, tall, soft, medium, hard) for your 07. I plan to get some soft foam from them for my TE450.

Oops, the seat PAN broke. Never mind....

Too bad it isn't a KTM or Enduro Engineering would probably have something for it.

That's how this adventure got started.
While installing a Guts foam and cover, I cracked the seat pan.
Now I'm trying to find a solution.

Hmmm, I don't think that I'll do my own install. I'll just send the seat to those guys and have them do it.

Yeah, I would recommend that.
Problem is on the East Coast it's a 2 week turnaround shipping the seat to Cal. and back. Unless you want to get hammered with astronomical shipping charges. It's riding season now so I don't have down time.
I definitely won't try that one again.
Lesson Learned: Husky seat pans don't like crown staples

Good news and bad news.
Bad: The '08/'09s don't fit.
Good: My dealer,(Toy Tech) just happens to have a complete seat from an '05 SMR /TE in his storeroom. A "Limited Edition " model red/gray/black. Sounds interesting. Anyway, I'm good to go for the weekend.
Thanks again Toy Tech!

If the spare seat from your dealer doesn't work out you can borrow mine for the week-end race. It has a small tear in it so if something happens it's not the end of the world.

I'm not riding this week-end. ( I have a 07 te too).

Dave, .... in Wilmington, DE

Thanks Dave, That's Awesome of you to offer.
I'll know on Friday afternoon when the seat arrives. If it doesn't work, I'll shoot you a PM. I'm about 45 min. from Wilmington.
Thanks again, Bill.

epoxy and fiberglass cloth. you could repair it so it'd get you through the event. Just glass it on the inside.

If you've never done it before its not too hard...

butt the broken pieces together
put a thick layer of epoxy over the surface
lay the fiberglass cloth into the epoxy
squeegie any excess epoxy off using something like a credit card so that the cloth is thoroughly soaked.

let it dry.

Stronger than stock... definitely.

You can buy glass & epoxy probably at any autoparts store and maybe even walmart?

hope this helps
