  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help with the Recluse in my TE250

HTF

Husqvarna
B Class
Does anyone have any clues to make my TE hook up quicker and harder? It currently has the factory install specs and it's mushy...no lifting the front end with the throttle at all. Thanks.

My 310 does the same thing. One of the techs at Rekluse told me that the clutches (Husky's) are lazy. I don't know exactly what that means. But what I'm trying is removing the synethetic oil and using mobile delvac 1300 diesel oil. Rekluse told my buddy to use Shell Rotella T in his KTM having the same problem and it work for him.

I have no issues with my install on an 08 TE250. I did have to alter the number of plates to get the proper gap and I'm using the recommended spring with no issues so far. It starts to accelerate around 2,800 RPM and I would guess it's actually starting to engage around 2,300 RPM. If I twist the throttle enough the front will come up but I'm not a fast guy by no means.

This link states that from their testing Rotella improved clutch performance. On bottom of second page under clutch drag. Hope this helps.

Have you tried a lighter spring combo for harder hit? Are you running all stainless balls? Everything is adjustable, just a PITA to do and try and change again.

When contacted Rekluse a while back, they said they did not have an autoclutch for the '08 TE 250. Is is available now? Otherwise, looking to go EFM.

The RMS 155 is what is installed in HTF's bike.
After making some more adjustments, the auto clutch is doing what it is supposed to do.
The issue seems to be how "flat" the bottom end power band is. Very doggy till about 5k then it comes alive.
Bike still has very few hours on it.
Looks like the game plan is to get some time on the bike and see if the engine gains any "life" in the lower to mid rpm range. Then perhaps reinstall the A/C.

It's the same clutch and all you have to do is get a deeper clutch cover that allows extra space needed. You could get a deeper cover from 7602 and be good to go. All I used was two Rekluse gaskets and it works fine. The only issue for me is that the sight glass doesn't have the metal bracket anymore. Give Rekluse a call and they should tell you like they told me, it's the same clutch, you just need clearance. The tech actually asked if I had a 7602 cover.

My TE250 is similar.

New it was tight and slow all over.....with 100mi it is fast on top but still weak on the bottom.

We'll see.......

thanks everyone for all the feedback...I need to recalibrate to a 4T, I'm used to that 2T snap.
