• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi guys I'm new here and am wondering if any of you have had the same problem I'm having.

About two weeks ago I was riding my 2011 txc 511 on some trails and after about 25 minutes of riding my bike stopped going. The engine was running but the bike would not go anywhere. I could literally hit the rev limiter and the bike wouldn't move. So I turned off the bike and waited about 10-15 minutes and the bike rode like normal until it hit another 25 minutes of running time. So basically I ride 25 minutes and then it loses power. Then I wait 10-15 minutes and ride for another 25 minutes then repeat. Has anybody hear or had this problem? I'd really appreciate some responses on my issue!

Does it seem like it is still making power if you can get it to redline or is it doing some weird popping and stuff? I wonder if your clutch is heating up and slipping like crazy

Torque limiter? How much oil do you run in the bike?

What this guy is describing sounds about impossible on a clutch-driven-only bike unless blue smoke is rolling from the clutch and the area is stunk up with the smell of burning clutch fibers ... This new fangled limiter does what on these 449 bikes?

Can only be clutch. Pull it down, clean it, check the springs are ok and do an oil change. I would not be surprised if the plates are stuffed.

Change the oil lately? I've heard of some wet clutches succumbing to extreme slippage with oils that they didn't agree with.

Hey bud, check the clutch master cyl fluid level....if it is too high it can cause the clutch to slip or stay disengaged when hot.
